Ginger is an evergreen perennial tropical plant that measures about 90cm high rising from a rootstock. The leaves are long and scented.
The rootstocks are cleaned, peeled and dried then steam distilled.
Often used in luxury perfumery as it brings notes of spice and earth.
Some attribute it aphrodisiac properties due to its richness in magnesium.
