  • A hardwood from Brazil which, after over exploitation, is an endangered species in Brazil (the Nigra variety are protected). It is now cultivated in India (the Latifolia variety). It is an exotic hardwood, known for its fine and pronounced perfume.

  • Vapor distillation of the tree bark

  • Although fairly rare in perfumes, rosewood offers an exotic, dense and sensual aroma.

  • The bark tannins may be used in in the conception of certain medications.
